Softball Recap: Potlatch Takes Down Genesee in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Potlatch walked away with it. They came out on top against the Genesee Bulldogs by a score of 10-7 on Friday. The Loggers are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 12 straight.

The team relied heavily on Hayley McNeal, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 20 games she's played dating back to last season. Liza Quaade was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Potlatch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Genesee only posted a batting average of .314.

Potlatch pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Genesee, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-7.

As of now, neither Potlatch nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
