Football Recap: Houston Comes Up Short on the Road Against Germantown

Houston had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 44-23 to the Germantown Red Devils on Saturday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Houston lost, don't look at Canon Day. Despite the final result, he threw for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Jourdin Shelton went supernova For Germantown., rushing for 93 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 18 passes. Another player making a difference was Kavious Record, who rushed for 76 yards and one score on only seven carries.

Houston has already played their next game, a 41-35 defeat against Whitehaven on the 29th. As for Germantown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 39-6 victory against Bartlett on the 29th.
