Soccer Game Preview: South Sumter vs. Lake Minneola

The South Sumter Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Lake Minneola Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Monday just wasn't the day for South Sumter's offense. They lost 8-0 to Leesburg on Monday. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Lake Minneola and Lake Gibson finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Friday.

Lake Minneola's goal came courtesy of Brody Robertson, who's now up to four this season.

With that draw, Lake Minneola's record moves to 3-3-3. As for South Sumter, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

South Sumter came up short against Lake Minneola in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 3-1. Can South Sumter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
