Basketball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central lost against Farmington back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Central Tigers took a blow against the Farmington Knights, falling 78-45. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Knights are ranked 106th).

When it comes to explaining why Central lost, don't look at Kanidryanna Ivy. Despite the final result, she posted 16 points. Those 16 points gave Ivy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbi Davenport, who put up nine points.

This is the second loss in a row for Central and nudges their season record down to 7-12. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-8 Notre Dame (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 55.4% over those games). As for Farmington, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-33 victory against Cairo on the 6th. Farmington has also already played their next game (against Notre Dame), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
