Softball Recap: Cathedral Catholic Comes Up Short

Cathedral Catholic had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Otay Ranch Mustangs by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. If the Dons were looking for revenge after losing 6-3 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sophia Clark was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

At the plate, Nia Talatiana made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Tyler Price, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Cathedral Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Granite Hills on the 3rd. As for Otay Ranch, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Rancho Buena Vista on the 3rd.
