Recap: Central Heights Vikings vs. West Franklin Falcons

This season hasn't been kind to the Central Heights Vikings, who are still winless after their fourth contest. The contest between Central Heights and West Franklin wasn't particularly close, with Central Heights falling 38-20. Central Heights was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as West Franklin apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Central Heights lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Melaney Chrisjohn. Despite the final result, she scored two points along with seven steals. Chrisjohn set a new season high mark in steals with seven. Another player making a difference was Macy Cubit, who scored 12 points.

Even though they lost, Central Heights were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Central Heights bumped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.5 points per game. As for West Franklin, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Central Heights will head out on the road to face off against Lyndon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lyndon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central Heights in Kansas (Lyndon is ranked 95th, while Central Heights is ranked 253rd). As for West Franklin, they will be playing at home against Northern Heights on Tuesday. Northern Heights comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
