Basketball Recap: Somerville Comes Up Short

Somerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Lago Vista Vikings, falling 65-38. While losing is never fun, the Yeguas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1264th, while the Vikings are ranked 202nd).

Lago Vista was led to victory by Henry Sisemore and Porter Herrod. Sisemore almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds, while Herrod went 9 of 11 on his way to 20 points. Sisemore has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Dylan Stovall was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Somerville's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Lago Vista, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing McGregor the next time they take the court. Somerville will head out to face McGregor at 10:20 p.m. on Friday, while Lago Vista will head out to face them at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday.
