Preview: Morrill Lions vs. Edgemont Moguls

Morrill is 8-2 against Edgemont since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Morrill Lions will be home for the holidays to greet the Edgemont Moguls at 4:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Morrill struggled with assists on Saturday (Kimball had 1300% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Morrill fell 48-39 to Kimball.

Despite the defeat, Morrill had strong showings from Pittman Ashwin, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks, and Wyler Fisher, who scored 20 points. Fisher scored a full 51.3% of Morrill's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Edgemont was beaten by Wall 77-17 on Saturday. Edgemont has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Edgemont's loss came about despite a quality game from Sebastian Morse, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.

Morrill's victory lifted them to 3-2 while Kimball's loss dropped them down to 4-1.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Morrill have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Edgemont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 19 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Everything came up roses for Morrill against Edgemont in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 48-14 victory. Does Morrill have another victory up their sleeve, or will Edgemont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
