Softball Recap: Santiam Beats Central Linn for Their Fourth Straight Win

Santiam had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They put the hurt on the Central Linn Cobras with a sharp 22-9 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-2 on Thursday.

Boston Flores made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Maddie Allen was a standout: she went 1-for-6 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Haili Hendricks, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

Santiam lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Santiam's record is now 11-6. As for Central Linn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Santiam will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cobras: the pair will be back at it again later today.
