Basketball Recap: Sabetha Comes Up Short

Sabetha lost a heartbreaker to Jefferson West when they met back in December of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. The Sabetha Bluejays came up short against the Jefferson West Tigers, falling 50-30. The Bluejays haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Jefferson West was led to victory by Kaylee Heinen and Harriet Dean. Heinen went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points, while Dean posted 12 points. Dean continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Schwinn, who earned six points.

Sabetha's record is now 2-14. As for Jefferson West, their record is now 7-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sabetha will take on Perry-Lecompton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson West, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers take on the Wildcats on Friday.
