The Garrard County Golden Lions suffered their closest loss yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Bluegrass United by a score of 47-44. Garrard County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bluegrass United apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2019.

Bluegrass United's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grace Hanlon, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Hanlon hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Milbrey Ann Coffman was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 12 rebounds and five blocks.

Garrard County's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Bluegrass United, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garrard County the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Boyle County at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Bluegrass United will take on Richmond HomeSchool at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Richmond HomeSchool is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
