Volleyball Recap: Kendrick Escapes with a Win

While Kendrick's win against Spencer wasn't quite the blowout it was the previous time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cherokees skirted past the Greenwave 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Cherokees in their matchups with the Greenwave: they've now won three in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Kendrick got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 22-25, 15-11.

Kendrick has now won 12 of their last 13 games at home. That gives them a 23-4 record this season. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-4 Jordan and 3-8 Spencer (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 11.9% over those games). As for Spencer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 14 games. That's taken a bite out of their 7-18 record this season.

Kendrick will take on Carver on Tuesday. As for Spencer, they will square off against Bainbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
