Baseball Recap: Coachella Valley Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs didn't have quite enough to beat the Granite Hills Cougars and fell 2-1. The Mighty Arabs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coachella Valley got a good showing from Rey Figueroa, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Figueroa has allowed since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Coachella Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Franco, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Those two hits gave Franco a new career-high.

Coachella Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Granite Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coachella Valley will square off against Beaumont at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Granite Hills, they will take on Silverado at 3:15 p.m. on March 21st.
