Missouri High School Football Rankings

Who's up and who's down

The power rankings have experienced a modest tune-up after last week's playoff battles. We'll tackle all that (plus a new number one team) in this week's report.

Can't Touch This

Staley's 28 - 14 win over Fort Osage last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior John Raybourn. Raybourn rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns. That performance landed Raybourn among the top power-ranked players for the week.

No Stoppin 'Em

The match between Lutheran North and Caruthersville last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 71 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. Everything went Lutheran North's way against Caruthersville as it secured a 64 - 7 win. Lutheran North saw its record improve to 13-0 and its power rank jump nine places as a result.

Next Week's Big Game

If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Christian Brothers (2nd in the power rankings) and Blue Springs (1st). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Of course, Christian Brothers and Blue Springs can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Saturday which team falters and which extends its success.
