Baseball Game Preview: Fletcher Senators vs. Nease Panthers

For the first time this season, Fletcher will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will be playing at home against the Nease Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Fletcher had taken Atlantic Coast down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. Fletcher took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Atlantic Coast.

Fletcher got a good showing from Dylan Johnson, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Johnson has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fletcher saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Demsey, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Nease was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 11-7 to Fernandina Beach.

Fletcher's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Nease, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Fletcher beat Nease 10-5 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Does Fletcher have another victory up their sleeve, or will Nease turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
