Basketball Recap: Halifax County Takes a Loss

Halifax County suffered their biggest loss since February 12, 2024 on Friday. They lost 75-52 to the Tunstall Trojans. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Comets came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Trojans are ranked 279th).

Halifax County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Tunstall, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Halifax County will square off against Person at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Person knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Halifax County likes a good challenge. As for Tunstall, they will challenge Hargrave Military Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
