Basketball Game Preview: Taylor County Vikings vs. Macon County Bulldogs

Taylor County is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Macon County is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Taylor County Vikings will welcome the Macon County Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Saturday, Taylor County strolled past Marion County with points to spare, taking the game 58-40. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Eagles are ranked 407th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Macon County beat Perry 56-51 on Saturday.

Macon County's win came from a few key players Taylor County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Eric Rice, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Fulks, who had eight points and ten rebounds.

Macon County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 39 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Taylor County is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Macon County, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Fulks, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten boards.
