Basketball Recap: New Braunfels Takes a Loss

New Braunfels was the 57-42 winner over Boerne-Champion when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The New Braunfels Unicorns took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boerne-Champion Chargers on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, New Braunfels still got an impressive performance from Alyana Mcgarity, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 14 points and six boards. Yaniska Mestre was another key player, putting up nine points.

New Braunfels has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-17 record this season. As for Boerne-Champion, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-15.

New Braunfels will be playing in front of their home fans against Alamo Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Boerne-Champion has already played their next game (against Wagner), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
