Basketball Game Preview: Mammoth Huskies vs. Desert Scorpions

Mammoth is 2-8 against Desert since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mammoth Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Desert Scorpions at 7:30 p.m.

Mammoth is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt an 84-29 loss at the hands of California City. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-17.

Meanwhile, Desert made easy work of Bishop Union on Tuesday and carried off a 65-44 win. The Scorpions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Desert pushed their record up to 11-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Mammoth, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Mammoth was taken down by Desert 71-32 in their previous meeting back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mammoth was down 38-16.
