Baseball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

Riverdale was the 10-3 winner over Granite Hills when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cowboys took a 15-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grizzlies on Saturday. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Catarino Garcia was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5. He has become a key player for Riverdale: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-7 otherwise. ALEJANDRO SOLORIO also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Granite Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Riverdale wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-6 win against Legacy Christian Academy on the 3rd. As for Granite Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Woodlake on the 3rd.
