Deep Run is 8-2 against Freeman since June of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Freeman will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Deep Run extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Wildcats never let James River Midlothian get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Give Deep Run's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freeman). Everything went their way against Hermitage on Tuesday as they made off with a 7-0 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Freeman's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Freeman's win bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Deep Run, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Deep Run skirted past Freeman 1-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
