League recap: Minatra's hitting boosts Golden

4A Jeffco league recap: 5/7/12

Bobby Minatra was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .700 average, two home runs and seven RBIs. Golden compiled a record of 2--1 in that time.

Elizabeth went from 111 to 86 in the national rankings since last week after going 2-1 in the past seven days.

Green Mountain scored 37 runs this week to lead the league, but Evergreen is tops in runs scored this year, with 220.

Arvada stole 48 bases this week, adding to its league-leading 147 steals on the year. Manager Dan Moon is giving his players opportunities to steal, and Anthony Sandoval has racked up a team-high 32 stolen bases for the Bulldogs.

D'Evelyn's Ricki Swift led the league with eight hits this week. He is sixteenth in the league with 24 hits this year, and has a .381 batting average.



Stephen Eddy went 4-4 as Conifer defeated Alameda 5-2 on May 1, 2012. He rounded out his day with three runs batted in and two runs scored.

Jordan Estrada was the player of the game on May 1, 2012 with five RBIs in Green Mountain's 13-3 victory over Wheat Ridge.
