Basketball Recap: Edgewood Takes a Loss

Edgewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Madison Mohawks. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mohawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Madison, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgewood will face off against Valley View at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Madison, they will square off against Bellbrook at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Bellbrook's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Madison has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
