Baseball Game Preview: Hanford West Huskies vs. Reedley Pirates

For the second straight game, Hanford West will face off against Reedley. The Huskies will square off against the Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Hanford West took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Reedley, sneaking past 4-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Alex Orozco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Hanford West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Ritchie, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Ritchie a new career-high. Another was Drake Tafolla, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Reedley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Hanford West, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
