Basketball Recap: Luka Cecez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cottonwood over Layton

Cottonwood has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 83-81 heartbreaker at the hands of the Layton Lancers.

Several Colts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luka Cecez, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine blocks. Those nine blocks gave Cecez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luke Park, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 assists.

Cottonwood's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Layton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Cottonwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-52 defeat against Olympus on the 31st. As for Layton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-68 loss against Pleasant Grove on the 31st.
