Football Game Preview: Winters Warriors vs. Durham Trojans + Official Tickets

The Winters Warriors will take on the Durham Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winters is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Winters is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 47-6 victory over Williams. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won eight contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Lane Brown had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 148 yards and one score on only nine carries, while also throwing for 107 yards and a pair of TDs. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards.

Brown was just one part of a punishing run game: Winters was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.

Winters didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Macguire Plitt was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself.

Meanwhile, Durham owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They strolled past Colusa with points to spare, taking the game 18-0.

Durham now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Winters, their record is now 10-1.

Everything went Winters' way against Durham when the teams last played back in September, as Winters made off with a 32-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
