Basketball Recap: Rochester Sets Scoring Season-High Against Knox

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rochester). They strolled past the Knox Redskins with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 47-28. The squad ran away with 35 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

Rochester was led to victory by Ella Mccarter and Aubrey Wilson. Mccarter almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists, while Wilson went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Mccarter a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Field, who posted four points and eight rebounds.

Rochester pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Knox, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rochester will square off against Wabash at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Anna Daughtry and Mccarter. As for Knox, they will take on Bremen at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bremen will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Knox surely won't give up without a fight.
