Soccer Game Preview: Mount Tabor vs. East Forsyth

Mount Tabor is 2-8 against East Forsyth since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Spartans will challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Mount Tabor proved they can win big on Monday (they won by seven) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over R.J. Reynolds. Given Mount Tabor's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 30th, while R.J. Reynolds are ranked 94th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sophie Wyshner and Elizabeth Scott scored all three of Mount Tabor's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

Meanwhile, East Forsyth came tearing into Wednesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the War Eagles.

East Forsyth pushed their record up to 9-3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five matches. As for Mount Tabor, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-1 record this season.
