Baseball Game Preview: Seward Bluejays vs. Centennial Broncos

Seward is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Centennial a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Seward Bluejays will look to defend their home field against the Centennial Broncos at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Seward fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Hastings on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3.

Seward saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Riley, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Riley also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Centennial scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Fairbury by a score of 11-10. While the Broncos didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Jeffs 5-0 in the first period.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Seward, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything went Seward's way against Centennial in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Seward made off with a 16-0 victory. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
