Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Trail Takes a Loss

Santa Fe Trail managed to slip by Burlington the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Chargers lost 10-0 to the Wildcats on Tuesday. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Santa Fe Trail saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rigley Sleichter, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Sleichter is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Santa Fe Trail dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Burlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.

While Santa Fe Trail had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
