Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Guilford Vikings vs. Southwest Guilford Cowboys

The Northwest Guilford Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Southwest Guilford Cowboys at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Northwest Guilford is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Ragsdale 85-37. With the Vikings ahead 46-19 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Southwest Guilford hadn't done well against Grimsley recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Southwest Guilford secured a 69-65 W over Grimsley. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cowboys.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Northwest Guilford, bringing their record for this year to 12-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points over those games. As for Southwest Guilford, their record now sits at 14-7.

Northwest Guilford came up short against Southwest Guilford in their previous matchup back in January, falling 86-79. Can Northwest Guilford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
