East Gaston lost to Burns back in August, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 2-1.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Gaston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Payne, who had 16 digs and one assist. Payne is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Bolton, who had 11 digs.

When it comes to explaining why Burns lost, don't look at Bailey Grayson. Despite the final result, she had 24 digs and five assists.

East Gaston has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Burns, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.

Looking ahead, East Gaston will look to defend their home court on Monday against Forestview at 6:00 p.m. As for Burns, they will head out on the road to square off against Highland Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
