Basketball Game Preview: Pine Forest Trojans vs. Cape Fear Colts + How To Watch

The Pine Forest Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Cape Fear Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Pine Forest came up short against Cary and fell 53-45. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Imps 11-6 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Pine Forest saw an underclassman step up: freshman Robert Stubbs went 7-for-14 to rack up 15 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Calvin Townsend, who posted 13 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Cape Fear posted their closest win since January 14th on Monday. They pulled ahead with a 50-49 photo finish over Clinton. The victory continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Dark Horses: they've now won three in a row.

Pine Forest now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Cape Fear, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Pine Forest didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Cape Fear in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 50-44 victory.
