East Fairmont and North Marion are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The East Fairmont Bees will square off against the North Marion Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, East Fairmont sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 win over Lincoln. The Bees haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

East Fairmont's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole VanGilder, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Conaway, who put up eight points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, everything went North Marion's way against Weir on Saturday as North Marion made off with a 62-41 victory. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Red Riders are ranked 647th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for North Marion and bumps their season record up to 6-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for East Fairmont, their record now sits at 6-7.

East Fairmont came up short against North Marion in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 52-47. Can East Fairmont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
