Volleyball Preview: Discovery Warriors vs. Valor Academy
Discovery and Valor Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Discovery Warriors will be playing at home against Valor Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Discovery came up short against St. Mary's Academy and fell 3-1. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 18-25, 25-16, 25-16.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Priscilla Lopez, who had 19 digs.
Even though they lost, Discovery was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Valor Academy wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
The final score came out to 25-10, 25-13, 25-14.
Discovery now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Valor Academy, they now also have a losing record at 3-4.
