Basketball Game Preview: Whiteland Warriors vs. Martinsville Artesians

The Whiteland Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Martinsville Artesians at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Whiteland is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Whiteland is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since January 5th on Wednesday. They fell just short of Rushville by a score of 50-48.

Meanwhile, Martinsville came up short against Bloomington South on Tuesday, falling 63-37. The Artesians haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Whiteland will need focus on slowing down Addie Curless, one of several Martinsville players who made an impact when they last played. She posted seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Mallery, who put up four points and six rebounds.

Martinsville's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Whiteland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Whiteland strolled past Martinsville when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 50-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whiteland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
