Baseball Recap: Harper Woods Beats Southeastern for Their Third Straight Win

Harper Woods strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Southeastern Jungaleers a 13-0 shutout. Fans of the Pioneers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Kwintyn Powers made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Powers was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Powers is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Ecari West and Kameron Garfield did most of the damage at the plate: West scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Garfield scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Garfield is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Quinton Durr was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Harper Woods was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Harper Woods' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Southeastern, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
