Basketball Game Preview: Cumberland Academy Knights vs. Pine Tree Pirates

The Cumberland Academy Knights will square off against the Pine Tree Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cumberland Academy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Cumberland Academy came up short against Gilmer and fell 54-46.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pine Tree, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-41 victory over Carthage on Tuesday. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 556th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pine Tree has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season. As for Cumberland Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-19.
