Basketball Recap: Millers Creek Christian Beats University Christian for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Millers Creek Christian waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 36-27 win over the University Christian Barracudas. Those 36 points were actually the fewest the Lions have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Millers Creek Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julian Houpe, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Houpe a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Carter Ward, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Millers Creek Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for University Christian, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Millers Creek Christian will challenge Southview Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for University Christian, they will take on Tabernacle Christian at 7:45 p.m. on the 12th.
