The final result isn't all that surprising considering St. Charles East's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Rockford East are ranked 212th).

St. Charles East hit Rockford East with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Huxley Kapoor, Brendan Szerlong, and Sam Arville.

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, Batavia was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They fell just short of Aurora East by a score of 2-1.

St. Charles East's win bumped their record up to 9-4-3. As for Batavia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

St. Charles East came out on top in a nail-biter against Batavia in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fighting Saints since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
