Basketball Game Preview: Joseph City Wildcats vs. Williams Vikings

Joseph City is 8-2 against Williams since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Joseph City Wildcats will take on the Williams Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Joseph City will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Joseph City is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Mayer for the full four quarters, racking up an 84-26 win. Joseph City has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Eli James, who went 10 of 14 on his way to 24 points and five steals. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Arnell, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Joseph City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Williams didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against BASIS Flagstaff on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 43-38 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Joseph City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Williams, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

Joseph City lost to Williams on the road by a decisive 72-58 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Joseph City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
