Owensboro (Ky.) advances to state final on amazing, improbable game-winning score.
With six seconds remaining and trailing North Oldham 24-21, it looked as if Owensboro's season was assuredly finished.
But six seconds can be a long time, particularly in a state semifinal game, and it was long enough to allow
Owensboro (Ky.) to connect on a miraculous Hail Mary pass and score a game-winning touchdown with no time remaining to prevail 27-24.
Quarterback
Nick Locher took the snap at his own 41-yard line, and desperately heaved the ball down field. The ball was tipped at least twice, and somehow landed in the hands of receiver
Kishawn Walker, who ran the rest of the way for the storybook-esque touchdown.
Owensboro will look to continue its magical run in the Class 4A final next week when it takes on Highlands, a team that has had its own
highlight reel-caliber plays recently.
