Baseball Recap: Seton Lasalle Beats Mcguffey for Their Fourth Straight Win

Seton LaSalle had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt McGuffey on Monday. The Rebels put the hurt on the Highlanders with a sharp 8-1 win. The victory was nothing new for the Rebels as they're now sitting on four straight.

Anthony LoCastro and Mike Cejrowski Jr. made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, LoCastro didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Cejrowski Jr. struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Seton LaSalle: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise. At bat, LoCastro went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI, while Cejrowski Jr. went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Cejrowski Jr. a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sonny Testa, who went 3-for-4 with two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Seton LaSalle's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for McGuffey, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8-1.
