Softball Recap: Valmeyer Pirates vs. Wesclin Warriors

If Valmeyer was riding high off their 11-0 takedown of Dupo last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Valmeyer Pirates lost 11-5 to the Wesclin Warriors on Wednesday. Valmeyer was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wesclin apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Mia McSchooler made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Gideon, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

On Wesclin's side, Ava Spalding made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Spalding was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, a triple, and two RBI.
