Football Game Preview: Carmel Corsairs vs. Normal Community Ironmen + Official Tickets

The Carmel Corsairs will host the Normal Community Ironmen at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carmel will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Carmel is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: Fenwick, who was ranked 13th at the time (Carmel was ranked 11th). The Corsairs took down the Friars 38-24 on Friday.

Trae Taylor had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 401 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 82 yards and one score on only 11 carries. His passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 401 passing yards. Carmel's leading receiver Eli Jackson was Taylor's top target yet again, picking up 156 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Normal Community unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 36-14 to Peoria. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Normal Community's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Carmel, their win bumped their record up to an identical 7-2.
