Softball Recap: Sahuaro Comes Up Short

Sahuaro scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 19-3 to the Tanque Verde Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 9-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Sahuaro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaydence Cox, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Cox a new career-high. Julyssa Canfield also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Sahuaro is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5. As for Tanque Verde, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sahuaro will square off against Walden Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tanque Verde, they will take on Tombstone at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
