Baseball Recap: Carencro Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Carencro and Sam Houston had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Carencro lost 17-3 to Sam Houston on Thursday. The Bears have struggled against the Broncos recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Carencro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Boudreaux, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Carencro's defeat dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Sam Houston, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Carencro is set to take on their familiar foe New Iberia at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sam Houston will square off against rival Barbe at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sam Houston 1.7, Barbe 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
