Softball Recap: Palm Desert Gets the Win

Palm Desert saw some tournament action on Friday. They came out on top against the San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves by a score of 7-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aztecs.

Naomi Lopez-Fuentes was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taneia Arviso, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Lopez-Fuentes wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Palm Desert kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Palm Desert now has a winning record of 2-1. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Palm Desert has already played their next contest, an 11-0 loss against Western Christian on the 28th. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-1 defeat against Cathedral City on the 28th.
