Basketball Game Preview: Wirt County Tigers vs. Sherman Tide

The Wirt County Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Sherman Tide at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Wirt County earned a 39-31 win over Braxton County.

Meanwhile, Sherman posted their biggest victory since December 17, 2024 two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Meadow Bridge as Sherman made off with a 50-27 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tide.

Wirt County's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Sherman, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Everything came up roses for Wirt County against Sherman when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 48-19 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wirt County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
