Football Recap: Clifton Central Skates Past Hoopeston/Armstrong with Ease

Clifton Central's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past Hoopeston/Armstrong 54-0. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Clifton Central's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.3 points on average over those games. As for Hoopeston/Armstrong, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Clifton Central will head out to face off against Iroquois West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Comets will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.14 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hoopeston/Armstrong, they will be playing at home against Westville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoopeston/Armstrong will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
